I like the interpretation of the song, but it feels like the sound is super squashed. The sub-bass is super loud and brings a lot of mud to the mix. If it were more clear and not overcompressed/overproduced I think I would like this remix a lot more.

Triexus responds:

Thank you very much for constructive feedback! We've remastered this track, so now it sounds cleaner.

You've got some nice ideas going on here. In terms of composition, you could work on expanding a musical idea, like a melody or a chord progression. Like, if the vibraphone melody changed or was put to a different role later on so it doesn't become overdone, ya know? In terms of mixing there's a lack of sub frequencies/basses that prevent the big parts from feeling big. The drums are getting overpowered by the rest of the song and some synths stick out (more so in the drop). Some sidechaining and EQ filtering can help with that. Overall, keep at it bro!!

Psycodelik responds:

Thank you for the criticism, this was originally made when I had no sense of mixing, mastering and low end. As far as I know this is the only song in my latest ep without a sub. As far as EQ-ing goes, I’ll try a bit harder next time around, again, thanks for the advice!

I like the melodies, but I think the bongos are a little harsh on the ears and cut through the mix. Nice composition, though a B section could help it feel less repetitive.

RealMrSnuggles responds:

Thanks for the review. I wanted the bongos to be the main elements in this song but bringing them down wouldn't hurt even though they aren't too obnoxious imo. As for a B section, I wanted this song to loop for a town-like space in a game, hence the repetition. But I'll make up for that on my next songs.

This is sick. I think you nailed the theme you were going for really well. Reminds me of a videogame soundtrack. Nice slap bass, great sounds; very unique!

XLRSTONE responds:

Thank you! It's a tribute to Saki Kaskas, the guy who did the music for the first Need For Speed Games. It's a homage to those awesome tracks!

A little repetitive and the high sounds really take up a lot of the space. You could use an EQ to help make room for the other instruments and make the leads less harsh. Overall pretty cute. Keep at it bro :)

Axel330 responds:

thanks bro but the little repetitive is the idea when i maked the song i want do this but so much thanks for your tips UwU

Sounds very 80s synthwave to me. I like your synths. I think the song could overall use more bass to make those big moments feel bigger! I dig it tho bro, good job!

Geoplayer123 responds:

If you like the synths, most or all are stock Logic synths.

I like the MatPat reference lol, and I also recognize that FL bass drop sample at the end. For a WIP it not too bad. It gets a bit repetitive and hard on the ears with the highs in the chords tho, maybe soften them up or switch them in a breakdown. Fun melodies. Overall cute. Keep it up, man!

cathatmusic responds:

I took your suggestions into consideration when I updated the file! that was actually nice feedback!

I really enjoyed the drum work on this! You set up a good mood. Good job!

pichuscute0 responds:

Thanks! I appreciate it! I spend a lot of time on my drums in particular, so I'm happy to see someone notice!
